https://pharmacreations.com/index.php/jpc/article/view/376

The present study was undertaken to evaluate the analgesic potential of JM15 (Jasminummultiflorum) and JS25 (Jasminumsambac) formulations using the hot plate method in mice. Both formulations were prepared using successive solvent extraction and supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) techniques to enrich bioactive phytoconstituents. Analgesic activity was assessed by measuring latency to nociceptive response and percentage inhibition of pain threshold. Both formulations significantly increased pain threshold compared to the control group (p < 0.001), with JS25 demonstrating superior efficacy comparable to the standard formulation. The results suggest that Jasminum-derived phytochemicals, particularly flavonoids and lactones, may exert central analgesic effects through modulation of nociceptive pathways.
Pooja M. https://pharmacreations.com/index.php/jpc/article/view/380

Background: Herbal cosmetics are increasingly preferred owing to their biocompatibility, minimal side effects, and therapeutic benefits. Soap remains one of the most widely used personal care products globally. The incorporation of plant based bioactive ingredients can enhance the functional and medicinal properties of soap formulations. Objective: This study aimed to formulate and evaluate herbal soap using tomato (Solanum lycopersicum), aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis Miller), and turmeric (Curcuma longa) extracts as active ingredients, with a focus on physicochemical properties, antimicrobial activity, and skin compatibility. Methods: Three formulations (F1, F2, F3) were prepared using the cold process saponification method with varying concentrations of tomato extract (5%, 10%, 15%), fixed concentrations of aloe vera gel (5%) and turmeric extract (1%, 2%, 3%). Formulations were evaluated for organoleptic properties, pH, moisture content, total fatty matter, foam height and stability, dirt dispersion, saponification value, skin irritation, and antimicrobial activity using agar well diffusion method. Results: All formulations exhibited satisfactory physicochemical parameters within accepted pharmacopoeial limits. Formulation F3, containing the highest concentrations of tomato (15%) and turmeric (3%) extracts, demonstrated superior foam stability (18 ± 0.8 min), lowest moisture content (11.2%), and the largest zones of inhibition against Staphylococcus aureus (18 ± 0.6 mm), Escherichia coli (16 ± 0.4 mm), Candida albicans (14 ± 0.5 mm), and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (13 ± 0.3 mm). None of the formulations induced skin irritation during patch testing. Conclusion: The herbal soap formulations prepared from tomato, aloe vera, and turmeric possess promising physicochemical, antimicrobial, and skin friendly properties. F3 was identified as the optimum formulation. These plant derived soaps offer a safe, cost effective, and eco-friendly alternative to synthetic commercial soaps.
Chirag SharmaChandikaDeepak PrasharAvneet GuptaHarsh ChauhanAnshul Dadwal

https://pharmacreations.com/index.php/jpc/article/view/382

The purpose of the present research work was to formulate and evaluate vanishing herbal cream. Herbal creams offer several advantages over other creams. The majority of existing creams which has prepared from drugs of synthetic origin and give extras fairness to face, but it has several side effects such as itching or several allergic reactions. Herbal creams do not have any of these side effects, without side effects it gives the fairness look to skin.

Herbs are used in vanishing cream like fruits of muskmelon, cucumber and aloe-vera. Synthetic compounds such as stearic acid, cetyl alcohol, isopropyl, potassium hydroxide, preservative and perfume are used in formulation of vanishing cream.

The physical parameters such as pH, homogeneity by visual and by touch, appearance, wash ability, consistency, Patch test, irritancy test accelerated stability studies, type of smear were determined. Further studies are needed to investigate this formulation for its performance

K. Tharun KumarD. Vishnu VardhanBusheera BegumJ. Shubasri ChowdaryK. MadhaviB. Akshaya

https://pharmacreations.com/index.php/jpc/article/view/383

Herbal hair gels are chemical-free products that promotes hair health. It aims to nourish the scalp, moisturize hair, reduce hair fall, promote growth, and address scalp issues like dandruff. Herbal gels offer styling benefits without damaging the hair and are suitable for various hair types. Additionally, they focus on using environmentally sustainable, biodegradable ingredients. The main objective of present work is to formulate and evaluate herbal hair gel containing flax seed and curry leave extract. Extracts from flax seed and curry leaves were obtained through aqueous extraction. Formulation of herbal hair gel was done by varying drug concentration of ingredients as F1–F5. Methyl paraben was used as preservative, Triethanolamine use as pH adjuster in formulation. Five different gel formulations, with varying concentrations of these extracts, were prepared and evaluated. The formulations F1 to F5 were analyzed based on following parameters colour, odor, texture, clarity, pH, viscosity, spread ability, extrudability, gel strength, homogeneity, stability, washability, antimicrobial activity and antifungal activity. Consistency testing confirmed that the gel spreads evenly and provides a lightweight feel without leaving a sticky residue. The pH level helps prevent scalp irritation and maintains the natural hair balance, promoting healthier hair. Viscosity testing verified that the gel was neither too runny nor overly thick, making it suitable for both styling and conditioning purposes. The herbal hair gel formulation demonstrated good texture, stability, and sensory appeal, with a balanced pH and effective hair and scalp benefits. These results indicate that the product meets quality standards for a natural, non-irritating hair styling solution suitable for regular use.
T. SowmyaT. MangilalE. AshwiniSafa HurainV. BhavaniP.
